Who: Participants from any background or age are welcome

We are delighted to announce a workshop with Italian artist Cesare Pietroiusti set to take place on 11 and 12 of September this year. The workshop will be led by Pietroiusti with the goal of producing a new artwork as part of his upcoming major retrospective Un certo number di cose / A Certain Number of Things**, which opens at MAMbo Bologna in October 2019.

The language of the workshop will be English. Places are extremely limited so please respond before 5 September should you wish to confirm your participation. We look forward to hearing from you!

*Cesare Pietroiusti (b. 1955, Italy) is an artist based in Rome, Italy. His background in psychology and interest in economics have informed his approach to art making. He has exhibited his work widely across Europe and the United States of America, including exhibitions at Art in General, New York; Ikon Gallery, Birmingham; Athens Biennial; MAXXI, Rome; Moscow Museum of Modern Art; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin; Bozar, Brussels; Hayward Gallery, London, and Fondazione Morra, Naples.

**Un certo numero di cose / A Certain Number of Things is a project by the artist Cesare Pietroiusti curated by Lorenzo Balbi with the curatorial assistance of Sabrina Samorì, and promoted by MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna, winner of the 4th edition of Italian Council (2018), a competition conceived by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries (DGAAP) – an organism of the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, to promote Italian contemporary art in the world.
